The IMCA Offshore Supervisor courses covers activities and competencies required for the training and accreditation of dive supervisors who are required to supervise diving work safely and competently offshore, either on Air or Helium and using a Diving Bell (wet or closed). There are four separate qualifications under the offshore supervisors qualification scheme, two of which are trainee qualifications:

  • Trainee Offshore Air Supervisor
  • Trainee Offshore Air & Bell Supervisor
  • Offshore Air Supervisor
  • Offshore Air and Bell Supervisor

To become a fully qualified (non-trainee) Offshore Air Supervisor or Offshore Air & Bell Supervisor, you will need to complete further supervised on-the-job training and undertake a final theory assessment.

  • Find offshore diving work as a trainee supervisor and superintendent
  • Prepare you for the IMCA Offshore Supervisor Exams

ADAS Part 3 or Part 4 (or equivalent) ticket

  • Students must hold a commercial diving certificate that is to the level that you are attempting to gain your supervisor ticket in (this must be ADAS or international equivalent such as HSE, DCBC etc). For Offshore Air Supervisor course, you will need to hold an ADAS (or equivalent) Part 3 ticket, and for Offshore Air & Bell Supervisor course, you will need to hold an ADAS (or equivalent) Part 4 ticket.

Employer / Supervisor Endorsement

  • You must be recommended by your employer as being suitably mature, experienced and competent (there is a separate form letter for this that we will provide with enrolment documents).
